Description

Azee® DT manufacturer is Cipla.

Azee® DT active ingredient Azithromycin. Azithromycin is a broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic (azalide group) with bacteriostatic activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Indications:

- acute otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae;

- sinusitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

- acute bronchitis caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

- community-acquired pneumonia due to Chlamydophila pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Streptococcus pneumoniae in patients appropriate for oral therapy.

- uncomplicated genital infections (in adolescents and older children) (e.g., urethritis and cervicitis due to Chlamydia trachomatis).

Azee® DT is used as an alternative to first-line therapy of pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, in individuals who cannot use first-line therapy.

Azee® DT is not effective against viral infections (e.g. common cold, flu) and yeast infections.
